FAQ: Membership

Studio Membership

I bought a membership—what's next?

Welcome! We'll reach out to you individually by email and phone to schedule a tour of the studio that includes a brief orientation (15 minutes) and your keycode number. You can come to the studio today!

Are clay and glaze included in membership?

Wheel & Fire provides 8 or more rotating dipping glazes for member-use only, included in membership. We also have an array of glazes available for sale online and in-studio. Clay bodies are available for purchase at the studio.

Bats, tools, and sponges are available for purchase online or in the studio.

Place your orders for more clay, glazes, and tools online in our Tool & Supply section and we'll have them ready for pickup at the studio, or we can ship them to you.

When will my membership be renewed? Can I pause my membership?

Renewal dates occur on the same numerical date that the purchase occurred. For example, if you signed up for membership on November 15th, you will be automatically charged on the 15th day of the following months.

Unfortunately, due to studio size limits, we are unable to temporarily pause memberships.

Can I bring outside glazes and clay bodies to the studio?

Due to firing and kiln concerns, we require all clay to be supplied by Wheel & Fire and all work to be completed at our studio location. We do not allow outside clay bodies or glazes. We sell many types and brands of clay bodies at our studio location at the same price as local distributors.

Can I get more shelf space?

Please let us know by email or in person if you would like additional shelf space or a 7-tier cart: info@wheelandfirepottery.com

  • Top shelves (with no height restriction) are an additional $10/month.
  • A second 12" x 48" x 18" shelf is an additional $30/month (total of $190/month).
  • If you would like your own 7-tier rolling cart shelf to store your work and offer it for sale to members and students using QR codes or social links, these carts are available for an additional $50/month (total of $210).

How can I cancel my membership?

Please email info@wheelandfirepottery.com at least 7 days before your renewal date to cancel your membership.

Because our payment processor requires advanced notice for billing purposes, you will be charged for another month of membership if you notify Wheel & Fire less than 7 days before your scheduled renewal date.

Can my dog be a member?

Yes, friendly dogs can learn pottery too.

What are the firing fees?

$1.50 per pound for glazeware. Firing earthenware to stoneware is free. All firings are to cone 10 unless specified to cone 06 by the member.
